Originally from Toronto, Canada DJ Quescequest? is Jay Cleary, concert promoter, musician, DJ and avid music collector. Quesquecest is French for “what is that?” and throwing down rare and exclusive big beats between sets at live events is his signature.
As a DJ he’s shared the stage on diverse bills with Capital Cities (LA), Femi Kuti (Nigeria), Soulive (NYC), Blue King Brown (Aus),Elite Force (UK), The New Deal (CAN), Easy Star All-Stars (NYC) and many others at Toronto’s Mod Club, Sound Academy, Opera House, Revival. DJ gigs across Canada include Evolve Festival, Burlington Sound of Music, Come Together Fest & The NuJazz Festival.
In NYC he’s performed at Statue of Liberty, Bowery Electric, Webster Hall Studio, the Paperbox, The Richlane, Spike Hill, Pine Box Rock Shop, Cantina Royal plus does a monthly event at Brooklyn’s BedVyne Brew as a part of the No Wahala DJs Crew. Also as founding member of Toronto’s the Make if Funky Crew, DJ Quesquecest? has worked with DJs Z-Trip, Bonobo, DJ Shadow, Afrika Bambaata, DJ NuMark, DJ Qbert, Fort Knox Five, Krafty Kuts, A.Skillz and many others.
