Coyote

Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island

Coyote is a progressive pop-rock band hailing from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island. With an explosive and energetic live show, the group produces a blend of up-tempo indie rock which highlights Josh Carter’s unique and powerful tenor and the harmonies packed around it. Coyote’s songs are generally light-hearted and well-arranged, featuring a good mix of acoustic and electric sounds. Their musical, highly danceable songs also bear the certain je-ne-sais-quoi of Maritime rock — a bit of a jammy, almost two-tone vibe that seems to be present in a lot of the talent coming out of these tiny powerhouse provinces.

Their debut EP ‘Tracks’ was released in March 2012 and earned Coyote four Music PEI Award nominations including Album of the Year and New Artist of the Year. Over two years of performing across the Maritimes, Coyote has become a recognizable name in the indie rock music scene in Atlantic Canada, performing at events such as the East Coast Music Awards Breakout Stage, The Evolve Music and Awareness Festival, Showcase PEI and the Halifax Pop Explosion.
