Canada’s East Coast is steeped in celtic music and tradition, but Lee Fraser somehow found an unlikely journey with the help of electronic music. For almost 20 years, Lee’s appetite for dance music has evolved and changed which has truly helped curate his unique sound.
Unlike most artists that take inspiration from other genres of music, Lee almost solely takes inspiration from other electronic artists. From early house music greats like Maters at Work, Armand Van Helden, Frankie Knuckles & Erick Morillo, to progressive house pioneers like Eric Prydz and underground legends like Richie Hawtin & Hernan Cattaneo. Being able to pull inspiration from every aspect of electronic music has really shaped Lee’s music and like sets to something a little against the grain.
2017 was a great year for Lee with releases on Fragrant Music & Spinnin Records with support from some international artists like Armin Van Buuren & Sidney Sampson. He’s following up 2018 with releases on Spinnin Records, OHM Music & most recently Mango Alley.
Lee is also a co-owner of east coast event management company After Dark Entertainment, who’ve been behind bringing some of the biggest names in hip hop and dance music to the East Coast. He’s also one of the founders and resident DJs of infamous underground brand Nightshift in Dartmouth, NS.
Expect a journey through the mind of Lee Fraser in every live set.
