Jelynne Samson is a 15-year-old military child who has lived all over this beautiful country, from Comox BC to Goosebay NL. Today you can find her in Berwick NS with her parents and 3 younger sisters.
Jelynne started performing as a toddler, always looking for a stage and asking for a mic. Her only formal music training was piano lessons around age 5 and then at age 10, attending Music Camp on the Canal in Cape Breton (where she was introduced to ukulele, guitar, and percussion). Beyond this, she has been very impressively self-taught.
Her performances started with school concerts and open mic’s but quickly progressed. Jelynne is a two-time first place winner of the Lawrencetown Exhibition Idol competition and she also had the privilege of opening for the Canada 150 event in Greenwood, Nova Scotia. Today you can find Jelynne playing at events all over the maritimes. She is opening for Ruth Manning & The Prospectors at this year’s Kingston Steer BBQ in July and is so very excited to have an opportunity to play 2019 Evolve festival in New Brunswick!
In 2019, Jelynne reached another milestone in her music career when her very first originally written song Still In Bed made it into CBC Searchlight’s top 100 songs in Canada. Her fans are eagerly waiting for more of her folky-pop sound with the upcoming release of her new EP.
